WWE: 10 Ways Bray Wyatt Has Failed As A Heel

3. ", We're Here..."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eMDT_OJ6oc This is the point that anyone should point to when wanting to discuss the obvious moment when WWE may have abandoned hope of ever maintaining Bray Wyatt as a heel character throughout his career in the company. Sounding less like a disgusting jerk and more like a barnstorming faith healer (or rock star), Wyatt personalizing his appearance just makes you want to like him. The fact that he tells the crowd that he's about to appear in their hometown is, on a psychological level, creating a connection between Wyatt and those who feel his cause is just. A heel feels that their cause is just without the people even needing to care. A heel actually claims that he doesn't need the people's support anyway. If WWE simply understood that less is more, they'd maintain Wyatt's heel credibility in this situation. Wyatt just saying, "we're here," is Last House on the Left horror-movie creepy. Naming the city? Wyatt's a face-painted star away from being Paul Stanley of KISS.
