WWE: 10 Wrestling Books You Have To Read

As an avid reader and wrestling fan, I have enjoyed many books on the subject of pro wrasslin. My bookshelf features the likes of Bret Hart and Mick Foley sitting alongside William Shakespeare and J.R.R. Tolkien. The very best literature on pro wrestling transcends the business. It becomes a great piece of work in its own right €“ a story of life and drama. Wrestling literature does of course serve as an excellent source on the business itself, offering informative knowledge of the industry. There have been several great releases that have featured insider commentary on the industry. Even the ghost written WWE productions are usually fairly good in lifting back the secrecy of the backstage curtain. Here I will list in order the pro wrestling books I have most enjoyed reading, the publications I have found to be the best inside perspective on the wrestling industry...

10. The Death Of WCW, R.D. Reynolds And Bryan Alvarez

Deathofwcw Lg Offering insight into the collapse of the WCW entertainment giant, The Death Of WCW is a well written and entertaining read from respected wrestling journalist Bryan Alvarez. One criticism of the book would be its overt negativity. It tends to overlook some positive aspects of WCW's product, but there is no doubt about it €“ the Atlanta company really did turn into a joke by the end of its run. In the book Alvarez and Reynolds cover the multitude of factors that destroyed WCW, including the infamous 'Fingerpoke Of Doom' and gross over spending on celebrity talent. The narrative is an engrossing read and story of how the company started as a business that should never have survived, won big with the NWO, and eventually failed in spectacular fashion. By the end you will be laughing out loud at the hilarious descriptions of just how clueless WCW became. In truth it was a real tragedy that this pillar of the industry was destroyed, and wrestling as a whole has been poorer for the loss.
