With the release of THQ’s newest addition to its wrestling franchise getting ever closer, fans around the world, old and new have reasons to be excited.
Attitude era stars, broken rings, the ability to create and share more than ever before… These are big promises and as always we very much expect the developers to deliver on the hype. So in eager anticipation we have gotten a little over excited and just for fun, gone through some of the facts, expectations and general thoughts of the game, A all the way through to Z.
A is for Attitude
Back when great personalities were breaking through on a regular basis, the Monday Night Wars were providing the best weekly television on our screens, promo’s consisted of real passion and creativity, the WWE title actually meant something and guys like Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock were making themselves the biggest stars in wrestling history.
This was the Attitude era… the most exciting time to be a wrestling fan and those who didn’t watch WWE television between 1997 and 2000 won’t ever be able to understand what it was like anticipating Raw is War every week.
With WWE 13, in essence THQ are revisiting the roots of today’s modern Superstar, jumping back into a time machine to a period where almost everything struck gold for the WWE and things were just that damn good. Drawing wrestlers from the past to join those in the present for a new, exciting experience – the roster for the game is promised to include the likes of Attitude Era versions of Austin, Rock, De-Generation X (with Mike Tyson!), Mankind, Ken Shamrock, X-Pac, Vader and more set to make an appearance alongside today’s stars John Cena, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton.
WWE 13 also promises an Attitude Era mode so gamers can relive the memorable feuds of Austin vs McMahon, Mankind vs Undertaker at King of the Ring 1998 and most likely the Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels screwjob.
