WWE: 3 Ways Of Structuring An Off-Season For Superstars

john cena The WWE has made much hay about the fact that it is a product without an offseason. From January to December, the WWE Universe is treated to weekly television shows, house shows and PPVs that show the wrestlers giving their all in the name of entertainment. However there is no doubt that this workload takes a toll. Wrestlers such as John Cena and CM Punk have been working through injuries in the past couple of years that have been obvious for all to see. While one can only applaud their willingness to ensure that the product is not harmed by continously turning up to TV week in, week out, the fact of the matter is that at some point this is going to be to the detriment of not just the wrestlers in question, but the product in general. But an 365 day year does not only harm the superstars in the ring. With the WWE constantly tracking ratings success, the 365 day year has in a way stopped the WWE thinking long term and got them thinking short term. So what can the WWE do about it? It's clear an orthodox off season won't work- the WWE has too much invested for everyone to suddenly take a break between November and February. Instead the WWE has to start thinking outside the box. Here's some ways to do so.
