2. Moveset
Is there a more infamous set of moves than the five-moves-of-doom? For those who arent aware: it begins with Cena hitting several flying shoulder-blocks and a hip-toss before the opponent swings wildly, allowing the CeNation leader to land a spinout backdrop. The challenger then lays undefended as Cena performs his Five-Knuckle Shuffle and gets in position for the final move. Its at this point that he either hits the Attitude Adjustment (formerly known as the FU before these PG days) or the STF (perhaps the least-dangerous-looking submission in modern wrestling). These five moves can be the undoing of even the strongest of in-ring combatants. Ask poor Brock Lesnar. He was throwing Cena around like a rag-doll at Extreme Rules, when suddenly the 12-time champ hoisted Lesnar up and connected with the AA, leaving the former UFC Champion incapable of beating the three-count. Perhaps a reason for people being irritated with his wrestling style is that he hasnt added a move since 05 and he looks in more pain when he locks the STF than the opponent does. He also came under criticism for not being the most talented of wrestlers, but, to be fair, it is impossible to have many exciting bouts when youre feuding with the Big Show every year. He also has a decent record of good matches with top guys. His bouts with the likes of Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker and CM Punk have been great, some classics, but he doesnt receive the same praise that they do for those matches, which is hugely unfair.
