WWE: 7 Greatest Innovations To The Wrestling Business

Celebrating Vince McMahon's biggest contributions to the wrestling business.

It's fair to say that in the 50 year history of World Wrestling Entertainment, they have done a lot for the professional wrestling business. While some may point at the negative things they have done, that's not what we're here for. Today it's about the seven greatest innovations that WWE has given the wrestling business. Vincent Kennedy McMahon, the Chairman of WWE, has a lot to be proud of in his career and these are just some of those things that wrestling fans associate with WWE. Since it is such a broad topic there are a lot of things that could make a list like this one, so it's important to remember that this is all about pointing out the things that are really important to wrestling fans and that we associate with WWE before anything else. For a list such as this one, we're looking at things that WWE helped create and build into a big deal. For example, something like a championship isn't going to make it because they existed before WWE did. Other promotions have had them for many years. That's not unique to WWE; it's common in any wrestling company. This list could be 50 items long, but for the sake of this column it's only going to focus on seven things. Does the order really matter? It does in terms of the importance of the items at the top. All of them are important, though. There's no denying that.
