WWE: 7 Memorable Heel Victories At WrestleMania

WrestleMania has always been about the good guys. If you go back 30 years to the first one, the main event of that show saw Hulk Hogan and Mr. T to defeat the evil duo of Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff. Hogan main evented eight of the first nine WrestleManias and he won all of them. The only one he didn't win in the main event was when Randy Savage, the second biggest face at the time, left as WWE Champion at WrestleMania 4. When Hogan left, others like Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and Undertaker ended WrestleManias as winners. It was something we became used to as fans. It's not just main event matches that the babyfaces won, though. They've won most of the midcard matches as well because WrestleMania has always been about sending the fans home happy. If you tell fans year after year that it's the most important show of the year and you book heels to win the big matches, guess what happens? Fans won't watch the next year because they want to avoid being disappointed. This look back will focus on the guys that walked in as heels and walked out still heels. Somebody like Steve Austin going in as a face at WrestleMania 17 and leaving as a heel doesn't qualify for something like this. It's about being bad, staying bad and walking out with your hand raised. When talking about heel victories at WrestleMania, the key thing is whether or not WWE was justified in booking the heel to go over. It's not necessarily about ordering them in terms of best matches, but rather how it benefited the heels going over.
