WWE: 8 Shocking Developments Since WrestleMania 30

When Daniel Bryan hoisted the two championship titles skyward as confetti rained down at the end of WrestleMania XXX, it seemingly marked the start of a new day in WWE. Bryan had knocked off Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista in one night to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, which was a monumental feat. Brock Lesnar had conquered The Streak, another monumental achievement. The Shield had decimated their opponents, while Cesaro tossed a giant to win a big-time battle royal, both huge developments. Between WrestleMania and the fallout on Raw the next night, it looked like things were heading in a certain direction for Extreme Rules. Title matches are often revisited in some fashion, while superstars who emerge from WrestleMania with their stars at their brightest are given a chance to shine even more. But there have been several developments during the past three-plus weeks that you probably wouldn€™t have predicted while watching Bryan celebrate to close the show. Some of those are pleasant surprises, while others might leave you scratching your head. Either way, these are the left turns we€™ve seen since driving toward Extreme Rules.

Scott is a former journalist and longtime wrestling fan who was smart enough to abandon WCW during the Monday Night Wars the same time as the Radicalz. He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
