WWE: 8 Wrestlers Whose Gimmicks Were Ripped Off From Video Games

2. Gangrel - Vampire: The Masquerade

Anyone who has ever played a WWE videogame with WWE's favourite vampire may have noticed that at the start during the copyright screen that the name Gangrel is a trademark of White Wolf. That's because White Wolf created the hugely popular role playing game Vampire: The Masquerade on which Gangrel is based. Gangrel's character was modelled on a clan of Vampires in the game named Gangrel, who were nomads and often the most brutal and animalistic of all the vampires, which was also definitely reflected in the wrestler's barbaric ring style. While Gangrel's look may have been derived from Bram Stoker's gothic version of Dracula along with a few other influences, his name and in ring style certainly were taken from Vampire: The Masquerade. Gangrel went on to form The Lost Boys inspired group The Brood with Edge and Christian and gained one of the most iconic entrances in wrestling history, not to mention the cool music and blood baths, which gained The Brood wrestling infamy.
