3. Mortis Scorpion And Reptile From Mortal Kombat
Thanks to the talent of Chris Kanyon beneath the mask, Mortis went on to be the most successful of the so-called Mortal Kombat rip off characters. Unlike the others, he had a cool factor that you just couldn't deny even though he was booked badly and was an obvious rip off. His mask, attire and costume were all far to similar to certain characters from the famous videogame. Mortis was basically Scorpion with the colour scheme of Reptile. Scorpion was an undead spectre looking for revenge for the death of his family at the hands of nemesis Sub Zero. Mortis (the Latin word for death) hung around another character on this list like a spectre being a constant thorn in his side while constantly seeking vengeance. Mortis, along with the other members of the Blood Runs Cold angle were largely ignored because of the success of the NWO (New World Order) but you do wonder what could have been had they been the main focus of WCW? Would we have gotten even more Mortal Kombat inspired characters?
