WWE: 9 Most Out Of Shape Wrestlers In History

When you picture what a professional wrestler is supposed to look like you probably picture someone like John Cena or Hulk Hogan. A larger-than-life character who has huge muscles and looks like he could snap you in half like a twig. Wrestlers have evolved into walking action figures with physiques that look like they were carved out of granite. However, that's not always the case. There have been quite a few wrestlers who simply don't look like they could run ten feet, let alone wrestle a 15 minute match. These workers appear like they have never even seen the inside of a gym and the only workouts they get are 12 oz. curls. Chances are that the only workout partners these wrestlers ever had were Colonel Sanders and Ronald McDonald. Yet, these workers all found a degree of success in wrestling. Some of them got by based on their charisma, cutting great promos or finding a connection with the crowd. Others relied on simply being bigger (fatter) than their competition and therefore looking like a menacing threat. Proving that once you go fat, you never go back, here's a look at some wrestlers who's workout routines you never want to copy.

9. Dusty Rhodes

Dusty Rhodes The "American Dream" is a legend, multiple time world champion, hero to the working class, and the son of a plumber but he was never on the cover of any fitness magazines. Dusty was one of those guys who got by simply by being more entertaining and more charismatic than almost anyone in the wrestling business. His promos were the stuff of legend and carried him to the main event against Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, and Nikita Koloff. If you've never seen his "Hard Times" interview in the NWA, please go look it up right now. It has passion, creativity, and a connection to the audience that few entertainers ever had. However, Dusty never met a beer or a sandwich he didn't like. Today, there would be absolutely no way Rhodes would get on television especially in his Speedo trunks which left very little to the imagination. Dusty's girth sometimes effected his matches as well, as sometimes he would get blown up and be forced to grab a submission hold in order to regain his breath. As Dusty himself once said: "My belly is a little big. My hiney is just a little big, but brother, Iam bad and they know I'm bad."
