WWE Announce (And Immediately BREAK) New "Wild Card Rule" On Raw
4 wrestlers from another brand can now appear on Raw or SmackDown at a time.
Last night's WWE Raw added another gaping crack to the crumbling brand split, as Vince McMahon introduced a new "Wild Card Rule" allowing a limited number of Raw and SmackDown stars to cross brands for one-night-only appearances on any given night.
McMahon initially claimed that three performers from other brands could make the move, with SD's Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, and Kofi Kingston appearing in the opening segment.
The Wild Card Rule was immediately undermined when blue brand stars Elias and Shane McMahon ran in on Reigns' match with Drew McIntyre. Then, finally, a sixth SmackDown wrestler came to Monday Night Raw, with Lars Sullivan brutalising No Way Jose and his conga line, then convincing Vince to up the limit to four.
So not only did the WWE Chairman introduce a bone-headed new rule that further blurs the lines between Raw and SmackDown, but he blew it apart less than three hours later, with his explanation that Shane and Elias "don't count lol" destroying the guidelines set out on WWE.com.
Was having Reigns, Bryan and co. a desperate attempt at saving Raw's plummeting ratings? Is this dopy rule a definitive sign that McMahon has finally lost his mind? Answers on a postcard, please.
