WWE: Batista Celebrates Return; Has Harsh Words For Critics

Batista1 This past Monday's Raw was a ratings success for WWE as the return of Batista gave the WWE their most watched episode of Raw in the past ten months. We've got that covered on WhatCulture right here. Like most WWE Superstars, Batista is active on Twitter and he decided to thank the fans on there with a tweet that took place late on Wednesday night on his @DaveBautista account.
"Just wanted to thank everyone who supported my return. I missed you guys!! All you other negative Smarks can suck my balls! Haha!!!"
The first two sentences show a man that is glad to be back in WWE and grateful that the fans were happy to see him right. But then it ended on a sour note. The man known as "The Animal" ended it by saying "suck my balls" to the negative fans out there. In case you don't know, "smarks" is a slang term used for "smart marks" and is a common name that those in the wrestling business use for internet wrestling fans. By Thursday afternoon the tweet was deleted. Why? Because when a top babyface tells fans of WWE to "suck my balls" it lacks professionalism. The fact that WWE is a PG company doesn't help either. It's likely that somebody with WWE told him to delete it because it was garnering negative attention for the company. While I'm sure he really meant nothing by it (judging by the "haha" at the end), Batista should know better by now. The man is 45 years old. He's a father and he already has grandkids too. He's been in the public eye for over a decade. Hopefully he realizes that a lot of people can see what he tweets and if he tweets stupid stuff it's bad for him as well as WWE. It's an important time for WWE with the WWE Network launching and a new TV deal about to be signed in the coming months. Twitter's a big deal that WWE promotes heavily. All of their talents need to be on their best behavior especially this time of year. Batista is the biggest favorite heading into Sunday's Royal Rumble. If he wins that, as most expect, then he will headline WrestleMania as the challenger to the World Heavyweight Championship. He's going to get a lot of attention. For WWE's sake and for his own, hopefully it's mostly positive attention going forward. Batistaballs
