WWE Raw: 8 Things To Expect Tonight (July 11)

Anyone that tuned into Monday Night Raw last week will know that the fourth of July show is something of an outlier. They’ll also know that they needn’t bother watching next time that Raw falls on that date in another six years’ time.

As for this week though, it’s very much back to business as usual and WWE looks to be pulling out all of the stops. Or a few of them, at least.

Its perhaps unsurprising given the juncture we currently find ourselves at. We’re just one week away from the all-important brand split and the switch to SmackDown Live, less than two weeks away from this year’s Battleground pay-per-view, and of course just a few days removed from a certain someone’s eventful weekend inside the Octagon.

It all makes for a show that, dare I say, is being described as 'eagerly anticipated'. Here’s hoping that my writing that didn’t jinx it…

In the meantime, here are eight things to look out for on this week’s Monday Night Raw.

Perhaps the biggest news heading into this week’s show is the return of the big cheese himself, Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

So what’s he got planned? According to Dave Meltzer, the belief is that he’ll be providing a review on Shane and Stephanie and maybe even announcing the COOs for Raw and SmackDown, while WWE.com is teasing an awfully vague “executive decision” of some sort.

In reality though, this may simply be an attempt to offer a much-needed bump to the ratings. A Vince appearance has typically been one of the WWE’s go-to plays for when their back’s against the wall and I think it’s fair to say that’s very much the situation we find ourselves in, in light of this year’s ongoing ratings downfall.

Still, it would certainly be nice to be given some kind of indication as to what will be going on when the brands do eventually split this time next week.
