WWE Raw Results 18/02/13 - 5 Things We Learned

raw_crop_exact Officially, and FIIIIIIIIIIINALLY!, the Road to Wrestlemania 29 has begun. This week's RAW recycled several things from the Elimination Chamber PPV, and it also kicked off only a couple of storylines that are sure to play out as we head to this year's Showcase of the Immortals. Here are 5 things we learned this week:

5. Cena and Punk Have Unfinished Business

CM Punk took exception this week to the fact that John Cena was headed to Wrestlemania to face The Rock for the WWE Championship. Punk confronted Cena in the ring to open the show this week, and the result of their face to face is a match set for next week's RAW program where CM Punk will challenge John Cena for the right to face The Rock at Wrestlemania. This is an intriguing development in the overall setup for 'Mania; look for a possible return of The Phenom as a result of the outcome of this match next week.

4. Jack Swagger: The Push Continues

It was obvious with his win in the Elimination Chamber match this past Sunday that the WWE is fully behind this relaunch of Jack Swagger. This week on RAW the push continued in the form of two promos, one taped and one live, but both saying essentially the same thing. It still feels like WWE is working out the kinks in this new version of Swagger and his sidekick/mouthpiece, with the character and his manager even being borderline offensive at times, but that's to be expected in a heel character. The bigger issue here is that Swagger defeated Daniel Bryan this week, and while that, too, was expected, it is still surprising that he defeated, by submission, a member of the World Tag Team Champions. Swagger's run against Alberto del Rio should be interesting, but we can count on Dolph Ziggler getting into the mix at some point and possibly making this a 3 way dance.
