Royal Rumble Logo 620x250 And so the 2014 Royal Rumble PPV is in the books, and we are officially on the Road to Wrestlemania. The 30th anniversary of Wrestlemania is less than 70 days out, and the WWE chose to give us the most obvious of all conclusions to end this year's Rumble event. Your Royal Rumble winner is the obvious participant, but he was not the entrant that should have won the match. The overall PPV card itself, due to the huge main event battle royal match, was slim but delivered on nearly all levels, with every match being intriguing and eventful. The Royal Rumble itself was a huge letdown, with only a scattering of truly surprising entrants, and an overall ending that left way too much to be desired. And what WWE has done is really put themselves on the hook to follow through with what would now be a lackluster Wrestlemania, if the plans play out like they are supposed to: the winner of The Royal Rumble has a guaranteed WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match at Wrestlemania XXX.
