For many wrestling fans, the Royal Rumble is their favorite event of the year. Thirty wrestlers trying to toss each other out of the ring is a chaotic, but beautiful sight, and it's something we look forward to months ahead of time.

This year, WWE is trying to outdo themselves by bringing the event back to the Alamodome in Texas, with the master plan of selling the entire thing out! Good luck.

No matter how hard WWE tries, this could end up being a bit of a letdown. They needed "just" 15,000 tickets sold in order to sell out the Rumble in 2016, and now they need to do that four times over just to match what they did last time when they were at the Alamodome.

The 1997 Royal Rumble at the dome had 60,477 fans in attendance. While that’s certainly a huge number, it was actually considered a disappointment with many cheap tickets sold and lots given away for free to save face.

The show was built around Shawn Michaels vs. Sid Vicious in the main event, with the Rumble itself in the co-main event slot. While Sid wasn’t a big draw, the company was hoping that with Michaels in his homestate, he could pack the fans into the rafters. It didn’t happen, so now they want to right that wrong. It will be interesting to see if WWE is up for the task.

What is for sure, is that they will absolutely pull out all the stops to make this the biggest Rumble ever. There’s likely going to be a lot of big surprises and huge matches in store for us, and here are 10 things we should to expect to see happen at the show.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
