WWE Talent Was Not Happy After Super ShowDown
Most thought the event "sucked".
Last Friday's Super ShowDown, WWE's latest PR oxymoron, as disastrous at home as it was delightful to those paying for it, was an absolute torrent of effluence almost from top to bottom, appropriately topped off by a main event with all the grace, panache, and safety of Takeshi's Castle.
It sucked, then - and it transpires many of the company's talent felt the same way after the show.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, veteran journalist Dave Meltzer revealed that the feedback he has received from within has been overwhelmingly negative, with many of the guys participating admitting that they should have refused to attend à la Kevin Owens:
"Most guys don’t wanna rock the boat. Some guys wanted to go but I heard most didn’t think they should go. It was an awfully long trip. One person told me if it were up to him he would never go back again, but it’s not up to him so it doesn’t matter. Others were like ‘it sucked.'"
Meltzer noted that the 50-man Battle Royal was a particular source of annoyance, as it was thrown together at the last minute and afforded nobody any chance to shine. Consequently, it p*ssed off most of the people who travelled, since nearly all of them were in it. In fact, it p*ssed off more than it should have.
The Observer's editor concluded that he expects more fallout from this show in the next couple of days - and that he doesn't except much of it to be glowing. Can't wait.
