WWE Teasing The Authority Punishing Roman Reigns On Raw

Triple H looks set to return.

WWE are hyping up Monday's Raw for a showdown between Roman Reigns and The Authority. The indication from WWE.com's preview is that punishment is due, with The Authority currently "investigating" Reigns' attacks on Triple H and Vince McMahon. "A harsh fate might await The Big Dog on Raw," the preview states. This will likely involve the return of Triple H. He was off television this week to sell the beating he took from Reigns at TLC, although he did break kayfabe (and looked fine) at the NXT special in the UK. WWE pushing this Authority / Reigns storyline as a priority is a smart move, as the crowd reactions have been booming for The Big Dog since he started warring with The Game. The old narrative of going against the boss is clearly still working. WWE have ran numerous versions of this story in the eighteen years since Stone Cold Steve Austin first caught fire by stunnering Vince McMahon, and there's even shades of Daniel Bryan's recent conflict with Triple H in Reigns' ascent. He was denied for so long, and received huge "Yes" chants when finally winning the WWE Title on Raw. With a Triple H and Reigns angle looking likely for this Monday, perhaps fans will indeed be treated to a match between the pair as soon as Royal Rumble.
