10 New Directions For WWE After Clash In Italy 2026
6. Queen Of The Ring Crowning
So, how about on the women's side? The Queen Of The Ring tourney has a similar deal to the KOTR: Fatal-4-Ways in the opening round. Favourites include Liv Morgan, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, IYO SKY, Jacy Jayne and maybe new Women's IC holder Sol Ruca if WWE fancies strapping that ol' creative rocket to her and making up for a terrible start (at least in terms of win-loss record) on Raw.
This writer believes that Lynch, Ruca, SKY and Jayne will come out of the 4-ways on top. Then, Sol can beat Becky again in the semis, IYO can get past Fatal Influence's leader, and then SKY should probably score the crown in Saudi. There's no disgrace in losing out to someone like IYO, put it that way.
Besides, 'The Genius Of The Sky' needs something to sink her teeth into after becoming a bit of an afterthought to WWE throughout WrestleMania season. Fresh off beating her old mentor Asuka, IYO can become QOTR then challenge for either top women's strap at SummerSlam - bouts vs. Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan sound tasty.
Speaking of Liv, it...doesn't make much sense that the reigning Women's World Champ is even involved in Queen Of The Ring at all. Morgan explained that away during the Clash In Italy post-show by saying she plans on "taking it all" to prove she's the greatest Women's Champion ever.
Fair enough, but this just smacks of a writing team who don't have much else for Liv to do. Give the crown to IYO instead, please.
