10 New Directions For WWE After Clash In Italy 2026

4. Oba Selling More?

It's official: Oba has taken his first loss on the main roster, but (again) it took 7 F5s to beat him. Femi might well sell a little more during his matches and move away from a squash style even against midcard talent from now on. That sort of thing happens to a lot of monsters eventually, because the 'impervious to pain and unstoppable' gimmick only has certain mileage to it.

Just ask Bill Goldberg.

Oba may be expected to bump around a little more during his TV matches post-loss to Lesnar. He doesn't need to become Curt Hennig out there, but a bit of back and forth wouldn't hurt. He shouldn't be expected to just mow everyone down from here on out, basically. Select squashes here or there are fine, but Femi just levelled up as a WWE character at Clash In Italy.

His response to being hammered by Brock will show character development, then he can line up that heavily-anticipated third showdown with his arch nemesis. They've got a 'fight forever' air to them as rivals, but...they won't. We're only getting one more Lesnar vs. Femi bout, then it'll be onto other things for both.

Some won't want to hear this, but taking that first loss will be beneficial to Oba in the long run. Now, there will be less pressure on creative to keep his win-loss record in tact. Instead, the focus will be on telling good stories and showcasing what he does well between the ropes.

That's way better than being some human brick wall forever.
