3. Gunther’s Rightful Rematch

Dan Engler needs to watch it.

The WWE ref already raised the ire of one Drew McIntyre before, and he paid the price for it. Now, he's in Gunther's bad books after missing the Austrian's leg breaking the plane of the bottom rope on Sunday vs. Cody Rhodes. The 'Ring General' was rightly hot about that post-match, and you just know there's a promo or 6 on the way about it.

Michael Cole and Corey Graves told the truth at Clash. Gunther's foot was underneath the rope during the match-deciding pin from Cody. Thus, referee Engler shouldn’t have started counting, and that’ll be Gunther’s argument en route to a title rematch. He might even put hands on Danny boy like Drew did. Take that, ya little squirt!

Seriously though, everyone played their roles brilliantly in Turin. Rhodes benefitted from poor officiating (something that won't bother him one bit as he marches slowly towards an eventual heel turn), Gunther was incensed that he'd effectively been cheated, and Engler stuck by the idea that he didn't see a thing.

WWE refs are like politicians - they only see what they want to see. Also, they're thick and don't care about justice so long as they're alright. That can be the crux of Gunther's speech on the next episode of SmackDown. Nick Aldis may have to dish out some hefty fines if there's a sleeper hold in Engler's future.

The former TNA official will sell that like the rent is due, at least. His facial expressions are top tier.
