5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (24 Aug - Results & Review)
Knight and Sikoa form banter supergroup, Oba and Bron make it official, Cass gives generic vibes.
After a string of improved episodes of Monday Night Raw, WWE was due for an episode that regressed, even slightly.
Even so, Raw this week represented another overall good showing, with a really good match, a couple of solid in-ring promo segments, and a shocking close to the show that undermined (in a good way) the expected course for an absent wrestler.
Solo Sikoa and LA Knight are either auditioning for a new buddy cop movie, or they really are locked in as the new babyface opposition to the Bloodline. Their banter to open the show was fun and cute, taking the piss out of Jey Uso and frustrating the Samoan dynasty. However, the babyface duo didn’t anticipate the return of one of their former allies, who brought backup of his own and charted his own path against everyone.
Oba Femi and Bron Breakker signed their contract for Sunday Night’s Main Event, and Bron’s insecurity was on full display. But it was Oba’s smooth delivery and confidence that won the night.
The luchador tournament to find Roman Reigns’ next challenger continued, with one semifinal match shining and another underperforming, a theme that has marked this entire tourney.
And then there’s Big Cass, whose booking in this return engagement remains perplexing.
With that said, let’s get to it…
