8 Wrestlers Who HATED Their Own Gimmicks

Chad Gable is and always has been a wrestling machine. His in-ring work is amongst the best in the world, he's a good promo, isn't afraid to make an ass out of himself in the name of our entertainment, and he doesn't seem to have ever ruffled any feathers backstage in WWE. As far as all-around talents go, there aren't many who can carry a candle to Gable.

When Vince McMahon was in control, it was really obvious when he didn't appreciate those talents.

Gable was someone who suffered through the then boss's whims more than most. McMahon's natural love for bigger men is well documented, and so Gable's incredible wrestling ability and excellent tag-team runs were rendered moot as he was reduced to a ring name that mocked his height when going solo.

On his episode of Cody Rhodes's 'What Do You Want To Talk About?' podcast, Gable admitted that he feared it "might be the nail in the coffin" of his career. Chad is a model professional, and so he just got on with doing what was asked of him as the hapless 'Shorty G', but it's undoubtedly the lowest point of his career.
