3. ‘Babyface’ Hendry Provides A Distraction
At this point, WWE’s insistence on continuing the Joe Hendry “Funko Pop” song routine has to be an elaborate troll, right? There’s no way they think this stuff is entertaining.
During the main event match between the Judgment Day and Penta and Je’Von Evans, the heels looked to be in control when Hendry appeared on the ramp, strumming a guitar and singing about how JD McDonagh’s dad is a Funko Pop (and thus JD has a Funko Pop head) while standing next to a guy in… a Funko Pop head.
McDonagh lost it, stormed up the entranceway, which freed up Dominik Mysterio to take the loss via a Mexican Destroyer and mar an otherwise fun and entertaining match.
The joke is not funny or entertaining, however, and Hendry is not endearing himself in this role. Maybe if the Judgment Day had been cheating like crazy to get an advantage, there would have been a justification, but it came after a face miscommunication.
Just dumb stuff from top to bottom. Kill it with fire.
