5. Becky Tries To Salvage Feud

After the disaster that was Sol Ruca’s appearance at Saturday Night’s Main Event, the rookie was noticeably absent from Raw Monday night, with it being mentioned that she was suffering from injuries sustained during the show.

Becky Lynch conducted a backstage interview where she laid their upcoming Women’s Intercontinental Championship match and entire feud out in stark terms. Some people get punched in the face and become the face of the company (great line), while others get punched and it’s a wake-up call that they’re in over their head.

Lynch said Sol is outmatched, and while some people are impressed by her flips, she hasn’t notched a single clean victory on the main roster. Time, Becky said, is running out for Ruca, whose name is written in sand and the tide is coming in.

This was a solid, no-nonsense heel promo from Lynch, flatly stating that Sol doesn’t belong and all but daring Ruca to prove her wrong at Clash in Italy. Given everything that has gone wrong, this was the only thing they could have done: keep Sol Ruca off camera and let Becky just be an overbearing heel champion, and then hope the match delivers on pushing back against Lynch’s narrative at the PLE.
