7 Weirdest Times WWE Accidentally Predicted The Future

4. Goldust Preludes Mr. Iguana

Words can't do Goldust's team with Booker T justice, nor can they adequately explain just how hilarious Dustin Rhodes was during his unexpected WWF/WWE reprise in 2002. After returning at the Royal Rumble, Goldust launched into a wacky offshoot gimmick that saw him dress up as various characters for laugh out loud skits.

In one of them, he'd moonlight as 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin. The Australian TV personality's off the wall personality was meme-worthy before memes were even a thing, and Goldie decided to work a send up of him live on Raw. In the process, he accidentally previewed Mr. Iguana. Well, sort of.

Fans have had a hoot since when editing shots of Goldust to wear Iguana's green face paint. They've even replaced the toy croc he was holding with a tiny pet iguana for good measure. Granted, it's hard to separate Goldust as Irwin from Mr. Iguana once you've seen these edited pics.

They could be brothers from different mothers. Infaunas from different iguanas. OK, that doesn't actually make a lick of sense, but let's roll with it. Mr. Iguana burst onto the scene in 2009, but he wouldn't make it to WWE (by way of AAA) until 2025. That's when certain fans began drawing a line between Iguana and Goldust's Irwin impression from '02.

Finally, do yourself a favour: Go and watch a few of the funny promos Goldust and Booker cut around the same time. Book dressing as a literal lumberjack and all of the Star Wars nonsense is well worth seeing if you've never had the pleasure.

Just watch out for that "smelly Show-ppopotamus".
