WWE Banned Jade Cargill & Naomi Using MACE & RAZORS In Recent Feud (WWE News)
Jade Cargill and Naomi wanted to up the ante at WWE Evolution.
With the heated rivalry between them having seemingly now come to a, at least temporary, halt, WWE's Jade Cargill has revealed that she and Naomi were eager to incorporate mace and razors into their No Holds Barred match at WWE Evolution last month.
Cargill would emerge victorious in that bout, putting Naomi through a table with a top rope Jaded as special referee Bianca Belair counted the 1-2-3. However, the former AEW TBS Champion has detailed how they wanted to really up the ante and take even further advantage of the No Holds Barred rules - or lack thereof.
Speaking to Metro as part of the promotional push for WWE Clash in Paris later this month, Jade explained:
"There was so much we wanted to use that was asked. We wanted to use mace - that was going to be tough - and then we wanted to use razors, and that was going to be tough, but I welcome it!"
Cargill continued:
"I wish we were able to use the mace, [but] we gotta think about the crowd. We don’t want anybody in the crowd to be maced, because mace goes so far. That would’ve been wild. The whole first front row would have been lit with mace!"
While they weren't able to use mace or razors, Jade Cargill and Naomi still brought plenty of physicality to their Evolution match, utilising the steel steps, kendo sticks, tables, trash cans, a toolbox, steel chairs, a chain, a monitor, and even a camera.
It may have been Jade as the one left standing tall here, but it was Naomi having the last laugh as Evolution closed out, with her successfully cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase during the main event of Rhea Ripley challenging Iyo Sky for the Women's World Championship. And so, as Evolution went off the air, our final shot was of Naomi holding the Women's World Title, which in turn meant that she automatically became a Raw talent and left Jade behind on SmackDown.
Naomi was due to defend that title against Iyo on last week's Raw, but wasn't medically cleared to face the Genius of the Sky. While there has been no further update on Naomi as of yet, she is due to address her status on tonight's episode of Raw. She was previously set to defend the Women's World Championship against Stephanie Vaquer at Clash in Paris on 31 August, but it remains to be seen whether that bout still goes ahead.
