WWE Night Of Champions 2026: 8 Nightmares That Could Come True

7. WWE Books A Trick Williams Banana Peel

At first, it was tempting to stick down a random Lil Yachty heel turn that causes Trick Williams to lose his United States Title, but...nah, that's unlikely. To be fair, so is Ricky Saints walking out of Riyadh with Trick's gold around his waist. Unlikely, but not impossible if Carmelo Hayes gets involved as a third wheel on Saturday.

He wants to be the one to take that belt from old NXT protege Williams, so it'd make sense if Melo rushed out to try and screw Saints over. In the process, he might accidentally cause Trick to slip on a proverbial banana peel and drop his title. That'd give Ricky some shine, but he's maybe not ready for it on the main roster.

Taking the gold from Williams at this juncture would have to be viewed as a massive mistake by Triple H. If it happens, that is. Right now, there's no call for it and it probably won't, but Trips might be seeking ways to keep this 3-way feud rolling and give Trick something to fight back against. There has to be a reason why he hasn't been working too many matches on SmackDown lately.

Hunter books champions so strangely at times. Even midcard ones.

In short, if Hayes is going to interfere then it should only be to cost Saints his shot at glory. Then, once a similar scenario is out of the way for the WWE Title, these boys can go Triple Threat style on SmackDown or on July SNME. Just...keep that belt where it is.
