WWE Night Of Champions 2026: 8 Nightmares That Could Come True

2. Jey Uso’s Main Event Push Starts Again

It's fair to say that Jey Uso's 2025 main event push fizzled out. He's still popular, and his entrance routine has live crowds waving their arms around like they don't have a care in the world, but it's Jey's matches that can be a chore. His singles matches, that is. No, he isn't as bad as the worst comments on socials would suggest, but Uso's banner bouts failed to satisfy far too often when Triple H was firmly behind him.

There's no reason to expect that things would be different in 2026.

Many strongly suspect that Brock Lesnar will get involved in the King Of The Ring final over in Saudi and cost Oba Femi the win. That'd lead to a tie-breaking rematch between Oba and Brock at SummerSlam, which could in turn be 'The Beast's' retirement farewell. Fair enough, but that'd mean Femi would have to stare at the lights for Jey at Night Of Champs. Doesn't sound great, does it?

Further, Uso has made it clear that he'd be coming for Cody Rhodes and the WWE Title at SummerSlam should he score the crown this weekend. Those old friends have been tag partners and on opposite sides since Cody's return to the company 4 years ago, but any issues between them feel so, so tired.

Put it like this: Hardly anyone would view Jey as a serious threat to Rhodes and the WWE Title in Minneapolis. You could easily stick that match on as an opener for either night and no-one would whine about it. It'd be the kind of title tilt best reserved for a random episode of TV or Saturday Night's Main Event.
