Trial features a star-studded cast of Batman’s rogues as they put him on trial in a kangaroo court at Arkham Asylum, with Joker heading up proceedings as judge, replete with ceremonial gown and wig.
This episode is more of an ensemble piece than Joker-centric story, exploring whether Batman’s vigilantism creates costumed criminals or if they are simply crazy to the core.
Despite Batman being found not guilty, Judge Joker passes a death sentence on Batman anyway, since that’s what a downright crazy person would do.
Joker passing sentence is hilarious, decreeing “Th-th-th-th-that’s all folks! Let’s mambo!” as he bangs a rubber chicken. In the execution chamber, Joker has changed costume into a priest, ready to give Batman his last rites in a fabulous Irish accent.
