10 Predictions For The Marvel Netflix Series
Remember, "It's all connected."
It's going to be an exciting year of TV watching for Marvel fans. As fans know, four superhero series are due to premiere on Netflix in 2015, followed by a Defenders mini-series. These offerings are intended to tie into the broader Marvel Universe seen in cinemas. Remember, "It's all connected." First up will be Daredevil, due to air in May. Fans have already heard the casting for the Daredevil series: Charlie Cox is Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Scott Glenn is Stick (Murdock's martial arts mentor), Deborah Ann Woll is Karen Page, Elden Henson is Foggy Nelson, Vondie Curtis-Hall is Ben Ulrich, and Vincent D'Onofrio is the Kingpin (Wilson Fisk). From these details alone, Marvel fans can infer a great deal. For a start, a season-long arc involving the Kingpin is probable, since his character is unlikely to be in a single episode. Additionally, a romance between Murdock and Elektra seems off the cards in the first series of Daredevil, as the character of Karen Page is already cast. It seems Daredevil will need to get his heart broken with Karen before getting it mangled again with fandom's favourite Greek assassin. After Daredevil airs, viewers will next be treated to A.K.A. Jessica Jones, better known to comic fans as Alias (not the Jennifer Gardner TV series). Then Luke Cage will arrive, followed by Iron Fist. Once these four series have completed their first seasons, the Defenders mini-series will complete the original plan. After that, assuming some of these offerings have been popular, fans can reasonably expect the best of the crop to return for sequel seasons. Fans are most familiar with Daredevil, of course, but in the Marvel comics, these characters are deeply interrelated, and releasing series for each of them makes creative sense. Currently, few details of the series are known, so how might each of these programmes develop and how will the characters work together? Following are the 10 most likely directions for the adventures of Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand (Iron Fist), as well as the two most probable candidates for filling out the ranks of the Defenders.
