When that happens, there will be a massive hole to fill. Somebody will have to step up and fill the mad titan's giant metal shoes. With Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox in late 2017, who better to fulfill the role and major overarching villain than Dr. Doom?

Though most commonly associated with the Fantastic Four, Doom has frequently been a major antagonist for the Avengers as a whole. However, as past F4 movies have shown, drastically changing Doom's backstory in order to make him a generic foe doesn't quite work. If the plans for a solo origin movie for Dr. Doom are going to continue like director Noah Hawley thinks they will, then perhaps there is a chance we will see a true representation of one of the greatest comic book villains of all time on the silver screen.

Rather than creating Doom's entire origin story from scratch, however, there are ways to tweak his background in order to ensure that he slots into the already established MCU canon more efficiently. The film series has plenty of opportunities for someone like Doom to fit in...
