If you've seen Avengers: Infinity War and haven't read the comics that film was based on, you probably already know the importance of Thanos' snap.
That moment at the end of the film was taken from this page, which was beautifully illustrated by George Pérez and Ron Lim, and you can clearly see the magnitude of the snap in the final image on the bottom-right of the page.
