8. He Cut Ties With S.H.I.E.L.D.
The organization doesn’t play a massive part in the movies anymore, but S.H.I.E.L.D. will occasionally show up still. Captain America is often attached to the organization, and one can presume the upcoming Disney+ show will feature them heavily. Sam Wilson is no longer hiding from the law. It’s a reasonable expectation that he’ll rejoin a revived organization.
However, if he does join, expect him to butt heads with leaders. In the comics, he is an active member of the group but cuts ties when a hacker reveals plans for a project Wilson objected to starting. They betray his trust.
Fans already saw one Captain America betrayed by S.H.I.E.L.D. Expect a repeat of this concept sooner or later.
