X-Men Star Wants A Black Panther/Storm Crossover Movie

Alexandra Shipp wants Marvel and Fox to break down their walls.

Hot on the tail of the news that Lupita Nyong'o is in initial talks to play T'Challa's love interest in Black Panther, it has emerged that the character's comic book girlfriend wants to appear opposite Chadwick Boseman in a more traditional movie romance.

Nyong'o's potential casting obviously fills the vacuum in the film left by Ororo Munroe, T'Challa's former girlfriend from the page. The pair met when the future Storm rescued him from kidnappers and their relationship blossomed before they split up when his duties to his country got in the way. Later, the pair ultimately end up married after the events of M day drive Storm back to Africa.

We get to see precisely none of this on screen because Marvel and Fox don't know how to share their toys.

Instead, we'll see Nyong'o's presumably brand new character stand in for Storm. Hopefully she'll have her own powers, but it still feels like a missed opportunity to not reunite one of Marvel's most famous couples.

Anyway, Alexandra Shipp - who plays Storm in X-Men: Apocalypse - has said in an interview with on The Lowdown with Diana Madison that she wants to see them together on screen:

"I want that movie so bad. Ive got a pitch, Im like coming up with a vision board, I want this movie to happen. Honestly it doesnt have to be me - if Chadwick was like you know what I really want to do this with Hallie Id be like yo, thats fine at least make the movie."

She was also asked about the possibility of a Storm solo movie: "That would be really cool. Storm is so used to being on her own -- she finds these families and these people she really cares for -- I wonder what it would be like to see Storm on her own -- wouldnt that be dope if Storm didnt ?"
