Based on the tragic true story of Christine Chubbuck, Christine is a meticulous portrayal of a woman on the edge. After previously premiering at 2016 Sundance Film Festival to critical acclaim and a nomination for the Grand Jury Prize, it now becomes available on digital download and is out on Blu-ray and DVD from 27th February.
In a career defining role Rebecca Hall takes on the role of Christine, an aspiring newswoman with an eye for nuance and an interest in social justice. Always the smartest person in the room at a small town Florida news station and ruthless in her pursuit of an on-air position, her plague of self-doubt and a tumultuous home life are undetected but play heavy on her mental statee.
Things come to a head when when an on-air co-worker initiates a friendship which ultimately becomes yet another unrequited love, and Christine's disillusionment with her own life only increases. With haunting writing from writer and producer Craig Shilowich and directed by Antonion Campos, Christine helps to shed light on the mental health struggle of not only Chubbuck but of many people around the world.
