When a strange twist of fate pairs up wise-cracking, down-on- his-luck private eye Holland March (Ryan Gosling – The Big Short, La La Land) with hired enforcer and debt collector Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe – Man Of Steel, The Mummy), they find themselves having to work together to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a young woman named Amelia (Margaret Qualley – TV’s The Leftovers) in 1977 Los Angeles, following the production of her ‘experimental artistic film’. Before they know it their investigation escalates into pandemonium as they soon learn the hard way that some dangerous people are also looking for Amelia, and anyone else who gets involved in the case seems to be winding up dead.

Encountering wild parties, gun-toting car chases, and more than their fair share of dead bodies, the detectives are sucked into the wacky world of the 1970s LA porn industry to hilarious effect.
