Originality in Hollywood is dead, or so many people claim. After all, how often do any of us watch a movie like Get Out, which truly feels like it came from a wholly unique place, free of any overt influence?

Hollywood revolves around sequels, remakes, reboots and, in more subtle terms, movies that just rehash elements from other acclaimed films for their own gain.

In the case of these 10 recent movies, they've got a suspicious amount in common with prior hit films, to the extent it's clear they tried to coast on a formula that's already had proven success.

From a specific scene to a particular style, tone or narrative template, these films aren't remotely as original as they might at first seem, and whether or not they basically ended up getting away with it, they're craven ripoffs at their core.

Though there's a sure debate about where the line between homage and plagiarism lies, these films were shockingly shameless with how eagerly they "borrowed" from prior successes...
