3. Cocoon (1985)
I can't help but shed a tear whenever I watch Cocoon. It's one of those films, I'm sure you'll agree, whenever it's on TV (even half way through) you can't help but sit down and finish watching it, like many favoured films. I would be intrigued to see how a remake would be approached. Perhaps this time it could be presented as a British film with a cast of legendary leading actors such as: Michael Caine, Anthony Hopkins, Jim Broadbent, Bill Nighy, Timothy Spall, Helen Mirren, Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Julie Andrews, and Gemma Jones. It would also be interesting to see who would reprise the role of hunky local captain Jack Bonner (played by Steve Guttenberg). My oh my the possibilities are endless...
