10 90s Movie Girlfriends Who Were Way Better Than Yours

8. Faye - That Thing You Do!

Still Of Liv Tyler And Johnathon Schaech In That Thing You Do1

The biggest thing that always stuck out for me about Faye in That Thing You Do is that she's probably the sweetest person I've ever seen. Seriously, she's just so kind to everyone, even if they don't necessarily deserve it. I love the energy that she consistently throws at the band. She's never the one who gets the attention when they skyrocket to fame, but she's still there every step of the way, working hard to help them succeed. Faye's the one that named the band, after all. In a group of four guys (musicians, no less), I think that from time to time things could get a little intense. Faye is a calming presence, and the true heart of the band. She's incredibly patient with her asshat boyfriend Jimmy; she is able to see past the curtness, and really support him emotionally. You can see the joy on her face when they first hear The Wonders on the radio -- she's happy because he's happy. But at the same time, she knows when enough's enough. Eventually she kicks him to the curb and gives him an epic parting speech, so she's not a total doormat. Hopefully she will have a long and happy life with Guy Patterson, who will appreciate all the positive energy she brings to the table.
