The Armour of God is a wildly entertaining action-comedy from 1986, that follows Asian Hawk (Jackie Chan), a former singer turned treasure hunter in his international exploits. After stealing a sword from an indigenous tribe for monetary gain (make of that what you will), Hawk is thrust into a mission to rescue his friend's girlfriend from an evil cult.

The cult however has designs on using Hawk, and his unique treasure gathering abilities, to bring them the remaining pieces of a mythical armour known as the 'Armour of God', setting in motion a globe-trotting adventure full of fistfights, daring escapes, and ridiculously dangerous stunts. Essentially, The Armour of God is Hong Kong's answer to Indiana Jones, but our hero here can also sing. Your move, Indiana!

The movie was one of the highest-grossing in Hong Kong on its release and found major success in neighbouring Asian countries too. It even holds a 71% rating currently on Rotten Romatoes. It's also the movie in which Chan had a near brush with death after a nasty fall left him with a cracked skull, and then he went on to finish directing it.
