When you put Martial Arts into a movie that features pirates, the outcome will always be magic and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. A case in point is the 1983 movie Project A, which once again features the trinity of Hong Kong legends Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yeun Biao.

Taking place at the turn of the 20th Century, Project A features a rambunctious group of marine police, charismatically led by Chan, who are struggling to thwart the pirate threat from raiding ships. Against the backdrop of a feud with local police, Chan and his cohort stop at nothing to stop the pirates and arrest some gangsters. There are plenty of twists and turns that constantly put Chan and the police on the back foot throughout, and the movie ends with an almighty free-for-all in the pirate's secret lair.

Project A is a joy to behold. Watch it for the pirates, watch it for the fights, and watch it for the daring stunt that sees our hero fall from a 60-foot clocktower without any wires attached. Then after you're done, go and watch the sequel.
