3. Craig Lamar Traylor - Renner
Shortly after Frankie Muniz was announced to be starring in a new sci-fi thriller called Renner, it was revealed that the film was set to be an unexpected Malcolm in the Middle reunion.
The movie's marketing team confirmed that Muniz would be starring alongside Craig Lamar Traylor, who unforgettably played Malcolm's asthmatic friend Stevie on the show.
Numerous behind-the-scenes photos were released of the pair together, and Muniz even said in interviews how thrilled he was to be working with Traylor once again.
And so, what a disappointment it was that Traylor is ultimately only in the movie for a mere matter of seconds.
He appears early on as one of protagonist Renner's (Muniz) neighbours who passes by him in the hallway of their apartment building, and then returns for a post-credits gag where his Alexa assistant has been replaced by the AI Salenus (Marcia Gay Harden).
Granted, Taylor hasn't been acting much since his Malcolm days, but considering how heavily the marketing leaned on this Malcolm reunion, it sure seemed like he was going to be here for a decently sized supporting part in the very least.
