10 Actors Who Played The Same Character A Ridiculous Number Of Times

7. Christopher Lee As Dracula €“ 10 Times

The Films: Dracula (1958), Dracula: Prince Of Darkness (1966), Dracula Has Risen From The Grave (1968), Count Dracula, (1970), Taste The Blood Of Dracula (1970), One More Time (1970), Scars Of Dracula (1970), Dracula A.D. 1972 (1972), The Satanic Rites Of Dracula (1973), Dracula And Son (1976). He may have four (soon to be five) appearances as Saruman, but, typical of his screen great status, that€™s a mere drop in the ocean of Christopher Lee's career. The big splash is Dracula; from 1958 through to 1976 Lee played the thirsty count a whopping ten times. The first, Dracula, is without a doubt the best, standing up as still terrifying today, but each of the first six Hammer produced movies all have their merits. Things unfortunately took a downwards turn with A.D. 1972 and its sequel, Satanic Rites. Lee was still good, but like many films from the legendary British studio at the time they were just a bit silly (although the latter is notable for sharing the screen again with his original Van Helsing, Peter Cushing). Although those disappointments stopped Hammer backing the vampire, Lee had one more go at Dracula, starring in the French comedy Dracula And Son. Although it (along with a cameo in One More Time) gets him an enviable placing on this list, you kinda wish he€™d let the character lie.
