10 Actors Who Still Haven't Outdone Their Debut Performances
4. Tim Curry - Rocky Horror Picture Show
Although Tim Curry had been in a slew of television shows prior to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Dr Frank-N-Furter was his very first film role. And what a debut. Always known for his quirky performances, Tim Curry as Frank-N-Furter was the ultimate in counterculture decadence. He's a cross-dressing alien from the planet Transsexual in the star system Transylvania, who fancies himself a scientist and is trying to build himself the perfect man. Now, when you say it like that, it sounds ridiculous, but when you actually watch it€well, it's still ridiculous, but in a good way. Tim Curry owns the screen and everyone else is just orbiting around him. It's a role he was born to play, and nothing he's done since then has matched it. You could make an argument that his delightfully mischievous butler in Clue is also worthy of note, and you would have a point. But at the end of the day, his work as Mr Boddy is very good, but his performance as Frank-N-Furter in Rocky Horror Picture Show is iconic.
