10 Actors That Tried Being Action Heroes And Failed Miserably

9. Channing Tatum

Channing Tatum has never shied away from the fact that he starred in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra to fulfill a contractual obligation, which probably goes some way to explaining why his performance in the live-action version of Team America was the manifestation of the color beige.

For his and our benefit alike he was killed off in the first act of sequel Retaliation, but once again took the plunge and decided to try his hand at being an action hero in Roland Emmerich's White House Down. As if the blatant Die Hard comparisons weren't enough, the actor spends a great deal of time picking terrorists off one by one while wearing a white vest, but he ain't no John McClane.

His track record didn't improve with the Wachowski's notorious bomb Jupiter Ascending, and the fact he fared much better in a supporting role in both Haywire and Kingsman: The Golden Circle only hammers home the point that Tatum should stay away from being the person front-and-center in an action movie.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
