10. Liam Neeson - Battleship
I don't know how much really needs to be said about this, but let's recap. The movie is based on a Hasbro board game that was in turn based on pencil-and-paper game. More than that, it's a board game that virtually everyone cheats at (don't lie - you do). And the film's biggest star besides Neeson? Rihanna, making her acting debut. Apparently those glaring reasons didn't dissuade Neeson, but they did turn off moviegoers. On its opening weekend, it came in second behind the re-release of Titanic in 3D. That means people would rather watch over 1,500 people die in one of the worst maritime disasters - again and in 3D - than sit through this board-game-plus-aliens adaptation. The question I'd like answered would be how many would prefer to be on the Titanic than watch this. My absolute favorite thing about this movie - and there really wasn't much competition for that title - is director Peter Berg's reason for casting Rihanna: "Her videos are super-hot and I'd watched them a lot." Maybe that's how he cast Neeson too?
