10 Actors Who Appeared In Movies That Were Seriously Beneath Them

8. Dennis Hopper - Super Mario Bros.

Dennishopper Supermario Cool Hand Luke, Easy Rider, Apocalypse Now, Super Mario Bros... wait, what? Judging Dennis Hopper for Super Mario Bros. is a little tricky. As the first ever live-action adaptation of a video game, you can't really expect perfection. But Super Mario Bros. doesn't just stop at mere imperfection, it actually continues full-bore on towards atrocity, handily reaching that distinction with Hopper's "See you later, alligator" quip moments before de-evolving someone into a dinosaur-like Goomba. But maybe some perspective is in order: On Gametrailers' list of the top ten worst video game movies of all-time, Super Mario Bros. came in second. That's the second worst video game movie ever made. It's a genre of movies where a 40% Rotten Tomatoes score would be considered Citizen Kane and Uwe Boll is its Spielberg. And yet it's still amongst the worst. It's like being the worst player on the Houston Astros (they're really bad, if you didn't know). Like virtually everyone else who starred in (or saw) Super Mario Bros., Dennis Hopper later said he regretted it.
