10 Actors Who Appeared In Movies That Were Seriously Beneath Them

6. Kenneth Branagh - Wild Wild West

Kennethbranagh Wildwildwest If you're a well-known and respected Shakespearean actor, you'd think you'd be able to discern a good script from a bad one, but apparently that assumption would be wrong. I don't know what convinced Kenneth Branagh to appear as the villain in Wild Wild West. Perhaps it was the chance to pilot a giant mechanical spider in a western ? Or maybe it was this actual dialogue between Will Smith's James West and Branagh's wheelchair-bound Dr. Arliss Loveless:
BRANAGH: "How nice of you to join us tonight and add color to these monochromatic proceedings." SMITH: "Well, when a fella comes back from the dead I find that an occasion to stand up and be counted." BRANAGH: "Miss East informs me that you were expectin' to see General McGrath here. Well, I knew him years ago, but I haven't seen him in a coon's age!"
It goes on like that for a while. Classy.
